Blended Online & Practical Skills Positive Handling Course

Save valuable staff time - this blended course allows staff to complete Session 1 in 60 - 90 minutes of online training, in their own timeframe, in as many sessions as necessary. Your staff only have to assemble together for the 2.5 hour trainer led practical skills session (session 2) during or after school.

Session 1 - Course content:

• The use of force
• The Health & Safety at Work Act, 
• The Human Rights Act
• The Education and Inspections Act
• Clarification of techniques that should not be used following DfE guidelines
• Avoiding and detecting positional asphyxia

Session 2 - Course content:

• Dedicated to the instruction and practice of: Positive Handling, Safe Holding and low level Physical Intervention techniques

All delegates successfully completing the course will receive a certificate. Refresher training should be completed annually.

We also offer a double blended course for groups of 20 or more delegates, where two practical sessions are delivered back-to-back on the same day. This allows you to split your group in half, helping to minimise staff abstractions and operational disruption.

This is also the most cost-effective training option we provide for larger teams.
